Mary C. Stubbins, fondly known as “Chris” by family and friends, of Lewes, Delaware, born on June 21, 1939, in Glen Burnie, Maryland, peacefully passed away on December 26, 2023. Chris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank E. Stubbins (2005); dear sister Catherine Short; and cherished great-granddaughter Amelia Grace Collison.
Chris is survived by her loving children, Mary Walker (Tom) and Sara Sullivan (Rob); dear brother, James Berros (Sue); cherished grandchildren, Joshua Walker, Sarah Walker, Evan Sullivan, Julie Stout (Steven), David Walker (Stephanie), and Ryan Collison (Brittanie). Also, leaving behind a legacy of great-grandchildren, including Josiah, Jeremiah, Joel, Tenley, Ella, Camden, Amara, and Micah.
Chris was a devoted member of Grace Church in Milton, Delaware, where she found solace and community. She dedicated many years of her career as a florist with Giant Food before retiring. Her passion for flowers extended beyond her profession; she had a spectacular garden and found immense joy in cultivating beautiful blooms.
Chris was a breast cancer survivor, having bravely battled this disease for over 30+ years. She found happiness in cooking and baking for her family and friends. She had a zest for life and a love for traveling, cruises, and RV trips with her family. She will also be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her.
A visitation for Chris will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 from 7:00PM to 9:00PM at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11:00AM, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075. Interment will follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
