Leona Elizabeth Schmidt

On April 26, 2023, at age 91, Leona Elizabeth Schmidt passed away at her home in Hanover PA. She was born in Baltimore, MD on June 25, 1931 to Elizabeth (Witte) Beurrier and Henry Beurrier and spent much of her life residing in the Halethorpe-Arbutus area. She was a devoted servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and served Him well during a long and fruitful life.

Leona was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wesley A. Schmidt, her dear brothers, Henry Richard Beurrier and Donald Beurrier, her devoted daughter Beverly (Schmidt) Stewart, son-in-law, Robert Mox and her much-loved grandsons Eric Mox and Joshua Hanscom.

She is survived by her devoted children, Marie (Schmidt) Mox, Della Anne (Schmidt) Shuler, and Carl Schmidt, along with her loving son-in-laws and daughter-in-law, Ronald Stewart, Sr., John Shuler and JoEllen (Baumgartner) Schmidt. Additionally, Leona is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jason Mox, Ronald Stewart, Carolyn Shuler, Jeffrey Stewart, Julie (Shuler) Kavanaugh, Jacob Hanscom, Lauren Stewart, Christopher Shuler, Yvonne (Schmidt) Burgess, and Nathaniel Shuler, as well as sixteen precious great-grandchildren. Leona is, also, survived by sister-in-laws Delores Beurrier and Elaine Beurrier.

A private visitation and graveside ceremony for the immediate family will be held at the Gary E. Kaufman Funeral home at Meadowridge, 7240 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075, on Saturday, May 13, from 10:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. with the graveside ceremony to follow immediately.
