It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James “Jim” Leroy Welch, Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. Jim was the beloved husband of Delores “Lorry” Welch (nee Neumann) for 57 wonderful years, a partnership filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
Jim was a devoted father to Tiffany and Jimmy (Stacia), who he loved with all of his heart. He instilled in them values of kindness, perseverance, and the joy of family. As a proud grandfather, he delighted in the lives of Max, Cole, and Damon, often sharing stories and adventures that brought smiles to their faces.
The bond Jim shared with his twin sister Janice Fletcher and younger sister Diana Welch (Jan Kirby) was unbreakable, filled with laughter and cherished moments that will be remembered fondly. Jim truly enjoyed his time spent with all of his in laws, and extended family.
A proud veteran of the Air Force, Jim served his country with honor and dedication. After his service, he worked at Baltimore Gas & Electric for 36 years. After retirement he enjoyed summers in Ocean City with friends that quickly became his 70th Street family.
Jim had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. He enjoyed fly fishing, hiking, traveling, the Baltimore Ravens and frequent conversations with those he loved.
In celebrating Jim’s life, we remember a man who loved deeply, lived fully, and brought joy to those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to shine in the hearts of his family.
