Jack Ray McGee Sr.

Jack Ray McGee Sr., age 80, passed peacefully at his home in Sykesville, Maryland on Friday, May 17th, 2024.

Jack was born on May 28th 1943 in Brevard, North Carolina to parents Claude and Winnie McGee.

Jack started his family in 1964 in Pasadena, Maryland. He later became a resident of Sykesville, Maryland in 1986, marrying his wife, Shirley, in 1989.

Jack was an expert diesel mechanic for over 50 years and was blessed to experience the joy of working alongside his son, Scottie, for 17 years at International Trucks. He enjoyed watching wrestling and Ravens Football, and had a love for all motorcycles. He also had quite the sweet tooth, particularly for his Werthers candies. Visits from his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren brought him immense joy. Jack lived a rich and full life, leaving behind cherished memories and loved ones.

Jack is survived by Beloved Wife of 35 years, Shirley McGee; Dear Brother Cecil McGee; Loving Children Jack Ray McGee Jr (Donna), Vickie Lynn Avara (Timothy), Scott Gray McGee (Marie); Loving Step-Children Selena Cholski (Jayesh), Debbie Fowler (Gary), and Jason Sakeman. Jack was a cherished grandfather to 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, a dear uncle to a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a friend to many. Jack is preceded in death by his father, mother, 2 brothers, sister, and step-daughter.

Jack was loved beyond measure and knew no strangers. He was truly a friend to everyone.

A visitation for Jack will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075. A funeral service will occur Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075. Interment to immediately follow, Meadowridge Memorial Park.
