On Saturday, October 7th, 2017, Frank Colein Fields (82) of Jessup, MD passed away. Beloved husband of Ida K. Fields. Loving father of Kevin Fields and his wife Rhonda, Keith Fields and Laurie, and Christopher Fields and his wife Sue. Dear grandfather of Nicholas, Michael, Jessica, Phillip, Zachary, Timothy, and Michael. Caring great-grandfather of Hannah, Paige, Colton, Clayton, and Wesley. Survived by his brother Edward W. Fields. Cherished uncle of many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Fields was a lifelong resident of Jessup and for many years an owner in Associated Builders, Inc., a construction general contractor in the Washington DC area. Their many successful projects included work for the Smithsonian Institute Museum system, the US Military, Metro and the construction of the Presidential Inaugural Parade Stands from 1972 to 1996, as well as many other private and government clients. He was an avid aviation enthusiast, since learning to fly at College Park Airport in the early 1950’s and was a member of the Tipton Airport Authority Board. He owned multiple aircraft in his lifetime including a Swift, a Cherokee and a Bonanza. He was the proud owner of a bright red, well trophied, 1960 Chevy Impala convertible and a member of a number of car clubs where he often attended rallies.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc., 7250 Washington Boulevard, Elkridge, MD 21075 (exit 6 off Rt. 100) on Wednesday, October 11th, 2017 from 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 12th, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church 7474 Washington Blvd. Elkridge, MD 21075. Inurnment Private. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mr. Fields’ name to Trinity Episcopal Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to benefit Johns Hopkins Lyme Disease Research Center. Please send donations to the Department of Medicine Development Office, 5200 Eastern Avenue, MFL Center Tower, Suite 356, Baltimore, MD 21224. Checks should be made payable to Johns Hopkins University with "the honoree" noted in the memo.
