We gather here to honor Dwight Johnson senior born September 1, 1966. Who departed this plane on February 6, 2024. Dwight was proceeded in death by his parents Robert and Dorothy Johnson. Siblings Joanne, Rosalind and Bunny. He leaves to cherish in his memory love of his life and ex wife Nadine, children Shari, Tiffany, Dwight ( Britney Sue who helped care for him when he fell ill) Romello( Janiqua) and Karissa. Grand children DreShaun, Brea, Janiah, Noah, Kj, Ava and Zyla. Two of his best friends being Mike and Lincoln who were there in his time of need. As well as countless family and friends.
Dwight recently retired from the Dept of Defense Jan 26 2024 where he worked in telecommunications. Prior to working for DOD he proudly served his country enlisting in the Army in Sept of 1986. Dwight enjoyed traveling, as an avid traveler he has been globally but stated one of his favorite places to visit was Kaiserslautern, Germany. He was planning a trip to Africa prior to falling ill. No bigger Giants fan could be found, a sports enthusiast. The Yankees and Knicks were a close second. Also a boxing fan you could catch him ordering the big fights and having a good meal with family and friends.
He enjoyed amazing meals also preparing them himself. Dwight would love to prepare full course meals at 2am. Dwight was a lover of family, friends, travel, good food and good times. Nothing made his heart more full than enjoying all these things together. As we prepare to say our final goodbye it’s not a good bye at all, but an I’ll see you later. And as one of his favorite sayings goes this is but small things to a giant.
A a celebration of life memorial service for Dwight will be held Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, Maryland 21075.
