Charles C. Stewart II “Chucky” was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on September 1, 1953 to Charles C. Stewart I and Annie Laurie Watkins Stewart. Chucky grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and was the oldest of 4 children, two sisters and one brother. Chucky experienced tragedy at a young age when his mother passed away in 1963. Chucky became the big brother and caretaker of his siblings while his father worked teaching night school in the evenings after teaching high school during the day.
Chucky attended High School at City College of Baltimore, where his dad was a teacher, and he participated in track and field. Chucky was a City Champion at the Pole Vault his senior year. Chucky loved sports. He was a life long fan of all of the Baltimore teams and loved horse racing. A day at the beach was one of his favorite pastimes. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing Basketball, Football and Baseball throughout the city. Chucky went on to the University of Maryland and during that time he met and married Jean Carroll and they were blessed with one child, Tasha Stewart. He loved Tasha dearly throughout the years. He was very proud of her, his face beamed with joy when he spoke of Tasha and recounted her many accomplishments. They were very close up this day.
Chuck met and married Margaret Jones McGiffin in December of 1985. They were married 30 years and lived in Columbia, MD until his passing. Chucky loved Margaret "Baby" and she loved her "Daddy" as they affectionately called each other. They have two precious dogs, , his "kids", Gracie and Lanega that Chuck loved, spoiled and doted upon.
Chuck worked most of his career for Pitney Bowes as a Human Resource Specialist and most recently for the Sheraton Columbia Town Center near his home. "Mr. Chuck" as he was known on the job enjoyed his new position in Guest Services as he had an opportunity to interact with people, help people and make them feel welcome away from home.
Chuck loved Margaret, his life, his family, his friends and his dogs. A kind, loving, compassionate and generous man with an easy smile and ready laughter, Chuck will be missed by all who knew him. Chuck accepted Jesus Christ as his lord and savior and reunited with Christ through his good friend Chris Bell. Chuck began to worship with Bridgeway Community Church and became active working in the church and the community.
Charles Clifton Stewart II "Chucky" "Mr. Chuck" was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 26, 2015.
Chucky was preceded in death by his parents Charles Clifton Stewart I and Annie Laurie Watkins Stewart. Chuck is survived by his wife Margaret Jones Stewart, one daughter, Tasha, step-son Eric McGiffin, grandchildren Gary, David, Scott and Megan McGiffin, two sisters Pascal Muller and Genevieve Duraire (Beverly), one brother Darryl Scott Stewart , a nephew Dorian Scott Stewart and three nieces, Sabrina Nicole Stewart, Misha Laura Muller, Saskia Anne Muller, Great-Nephew Akira, two aunts, an uncle and many cousins.
