Ms. Bao Zhu Wu (February 15, 1929 - May 28, 2024) was born in Shanghai, China and traced her ancestry to Jin Xian, Anhui Province, China. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Da Tong University in China and her Master of Science degree from the Moscow D. Mendeleev Institute of Chemical Technology in the Soviet Union. Throughout her illustrious career, she held the position of Principal Scientist at the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, served on the Editorial Board for the "Environmental Science" journal, and was the Vice Chief Editor of the "Organic Chemistry" Journal. Her contributions were recognized widely, including her induction into the "Who's Who of Chinese Women" in 1988.
As a revered scientist, devout Christian, and cherished family matriarch, Ms. Wu leaves a rich legacy. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
