Patricia Ann Burch

Patricia Ann Burch, age 77, of Central Lake, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at Munson Medical Center following an auto accident. Pat was born July 7, 1939 in Ann Arbor to Kenneth and Clara (Bruckner) Burch. She graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1957; she went on to attend Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in education. Pat taught at La Mesa schools in San Diego, CA and Wayne/Westland School District at Adams Junior High and John Glen High School. After retirement Pat also spent time tutoring at East Jordan Elementary.

In her spare time, Pat was an avid reader. She was a member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Altar Guild, Bridge Clubs, and playing Euchre. She cherished her time on Torch Lake and with her beloved dog, Rory. But her time with her granddaughter, Eloise, and her nieces and nephews were her passion.

Pat will be greatly missed by her daughter, Melinda (Richard) Spoutz of Pinckney and granddaughter, Eloise. She also leaves behind siblings, Tim (Cindy) Burch of Elk Rapids and Mary (Gary) Bailey of Williamsburg; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Elk Rapids. Pat will be laid to rest next to her father at Lakeview Cemetery in Eastport.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family to assist with expenses.
