Richard "Dick" Wayne West

He was a native of Elmira, NY, and retired from the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War and being stationed in Alaska and Germany. He also retired as a Corrections Officer in New York.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen West and one brother, Ron Swarthout.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Christly West; two sons, Scott West of Elizabethtown and Chris (Pam) West of Louisville; one brother, Skip (Sue) Tongue of VA; one sister, Sharon Vanlone of NY; two grandchildren, Brad and George West both of Louisville; and his dog Cocoa.

The funeral will be Friday at 5 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, with Rev. Amanda Adams officiating.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
