Michael Francis Mayhew

He was born in Paris, KY to the late William and Gaye Bramel Mayhew. He graduated from Elizabethtown High School in 1964. Michael served in the United States Air Force in the Special Ops for 22 years. After his military retirement, he received an A.A.S. Degree at ECTC and his Bachelor’s and Master's Degree in Special Education at the University of Louisville. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was a Special Education Teacher in Hardin County School system for 16 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ret. Major William M. Mayhew and Gay Bramel Mayhew.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Linda Alvey Mayhew; two sisters, Terry Richardson and Lisa (Buzz) Sumpter, many nieces and nephews; and their fur babies, Duncan, Sooty, Gypsy, and Rufous.

The funeral service is Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Summit Methodist Church in Hardin County.

Burial follows in Summit Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation for Michael will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home and continues after 12:00 PM Thursday at Summit Methodist Church until the time of service.
