Michael Glenn Blankenship, age 61, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Michael was born September 30, 1962 in Hardin Co.
Michael was a HAM radio operator and went by the call sign "AF4BN". He previously owned a CB radio shop in which those who knew him, knew him as "Captain". He also dedicated many years to public service. He was a deputy jailer and later became the first 911 dispatcher for Hardin Co., he was a firefighter with Central Hardin Fire Department where he served as Chief, and he also worked as a paramedic for 20 years, in which he retired in 2007.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon Kay Blankenship.
He is survived by his sons, Roger (Alesha) and Jesse (Courtney); 5 grandchildren, Emily, Hunter, Michael, Whitley, and Turner; brother Daniel Blankenship and sister, Lana Root of Morehead.
Family has chosen cremation and no services have been scheduled.
