He was a native of Jefferson County, served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a member of Valley Christian Church in Valley Station. He retired from Dupont Chemical as a mechanic and was an avid gardener.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Trece Brittain Henderson; his parents, Harley Elbert and Verna Mae Henderson; six brothers, Billy Joe Henderson, Garland Henderson, Jerry Leon Henderson, Elbert Wayne Henderson, James Richardson and Harley Richardson; and a sister, Marcella McClure.
He is survived by two sons, David C. (Susan) Henderson of Georgetown and John B. (Michele) Henderson of Louisville; one daughter, Julie Ann Henderson of Louisville; and three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Lauren and Grant Henderson.
The funeral is Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Kerr officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Creek Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and continues after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
