Martha Louise Dale

(Sally) Martha Louise Dale, 86, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 6, 1938, Martha was a cherished daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched everyone she crossed paths with. Sally was known for her unwavering love for her family and friends.

She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church of Elizabethtown. Her faith and compassion were central to her life and guided everything she did.

Sally married the love of her life, Jessie Dale Jr. in 1955, and together they built a life filled with love and happiness. The couple shared 69 wonderful years of marriage, raising three children, David (Traci) Dale, Tom (Toni) Dale and Teresa (Johnny) Buckley.

Sally was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. Always present for her children’s and grandchildren’s milestones and joys. She was a most dedicated grandmother to her 5 grandchildren, Nina, Jesseca, Tommy, Taylor, Melissa and 1 great granddaughter Cattarina, who all brought her endless happiness.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Louise Hunter.

She was the eldest daughter of 17 siblings.

She is survived by two remaining siblings, Harry Hunter and Patti Pettigrew.

Sally's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Hardin Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion during her final days. Especially, Baylee and Kylie, of the ICU staff.

A celebration of Martha's life was held on October 3, 2024, at her home with family and close friends in attendance.

Sally will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
