He was born on November 19, 1929, to John McMillen Brown and Julia Douglas Brown in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William Allen Brown and his sisters, India Nan Brown Jenkins and Suzanne Brown Blazer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Martha Vee Greenwell Brown and his five children, Sharon Carol Brown Priddy (Bobby), Susan Janet Brown Summers (Allen), Stephen Douglas Brown (Belinda), Nancy Ellen Brown Hager (Todd) and Mark Andrew Brown (Shannon); also his grandchildren, Julie Susan Priddy Fogle (Lance), Paul Douglas Summers, Sara Marie Summers Fulkerson (Isaac), Hope Kathleen Hager, Jonathan Thomas Hager, Anthony Douglas Hager, Dashel Jett Brown and Loxley Clover Brown; and great-grandchildren Zoey Rayne Fogle, Eleanor June Fogle, Oliver Graham Fogle and Luke Adler Fulkerson; and many beloved nieces and nephews and step-grandchildren.
Frank graduated from Glendale High School in 1948 where he was FFA President. He was a lifelong farmer in Glendale. He served in the U.S. Army as a tank commander in the Korean conflict. He was a lifelong member of Gilead Baptist Church in Glendale where he served as a Deacon. In addition to farming, he enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, working puzzles with grandkids, watching UK basketball and researching ancestry. He worked on the Kentucky Turnpike and then at Nolin Production Credit Association. He was a member of the Glendale Lions Club for many years and served as president for a term. He served on the Board of Directors for Hardin County Farm Bureau and the Hardin County Farm Service Agency Committee. He was a Kentucky Colonel.
The funeral is at 11 am on Thursday, December 14th at Gilead Baptist Church in Glendale with Rev. Connor Anderson officiating and burial following in the Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown on Wednesday, December 13th from 4 to 8 pm and continues at Gilead Baptist Church on Thursday, December 14th at 10 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gilead Baptist Church Building or Cemetery Fund or to a charity of your choice.
