He was born in Hardin County to the late Stiles and Mabel Hoover Hill. Eugene was a flight engineer in the U.S. Army/ Air Force and worked in civil service at Ft. Knox for 30 years as a tank mechanic and inspector. He was a lifetime farmer, a member of the Stephensburg Masonic Lodge 212, and a member of the Hardin County Beef Association. Eugene was an ordained deacon and Sunday school teacher at Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church for many years and later became a member of Blue Ball Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Hilton Hill; one sister, Juanita Morris; a daughter-in-law, Linda Clater Hill; one granddaughter, Whitney Raeanne Hill; and a son-in-law, Danny W. Bewley.
Survivors include one son, Gerald (Joni) Hill; one daughter, Carol Bewley (Leo) Brangers; five grandchildren, Josh Brown, Marlinda Lush, Brandon Bewley, Colby Bewley, and Alex Brangers; eleven great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Monday and continues until the time of the service.
