He retired from civil service and was able to enjoy farming, which he loved for the rest of his life.
He was preceded in death by his son, J.P. Williams; his parents, Clyde and Laetitia Williams; one brother, David Williams; and two sisters, Gayle Whelan and Doris Jean (Dude) Bailey; son-in-law, Tim Terry; sister-in-law, Shirley Williams, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Wiseman.
Freddie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ellen; two sons, Mark of Rineyville and Charlie of San Francisco; one daughter, Lori Shinault of Elizabethtown; his brother, Jim Williams; two sisters, Martha Wiseman and Joyce (Lewie) Champlin; a brother-in-law, Freddie Whelan; five grandchildren, Andrew Terry, Kyle Terry, Jay Shinault, Carley (Tyler) Nall, and Justin (Chantelle) Williams; seven great-grandchildren, Gage, Owen, Laynie, Natalie, Carleigh, Whitlee, and Waylon; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 11 am Thursday at St. John Catholic Church.
Burial follows in St. John Cemetery.
