Charlie was a member of Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church for 48 years, where he was an active deacon for more than 40 years. He retired from Coca-Cola and enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
He was a simple, kind, country man who was down to earth and enjoyed being with his family and friends. His love for Christ was evident in everything he did. He was not only a big brother to his siblings, but a great friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wesley “Buddy” and Ethel Marie Cox Smith; one granddaughter, Kelli Noelle Bryan; one brother-in-law, Tom Blair; and one great-nephew, Braden Todd Blair.
Survivors include his wife of 56 ½ years, Linda Smith of Cecilia; two children, Steve (Ange) Smith and Angie Smith Bryan, both of Elizabethtown; four siblings; Ronnie L. (Susan) Smith, Gary W. (Sandy) Smith, Belinda Blair, and Rhonda Kay (Doug) Thompson, all of Elizabethtown; two grandchildren, Austin (Shelby) Bryan of Big Clifty and Sam Smith of Vancouver, WA; and two great- granddaughters, Emersyn Claire and Sadie Kate Bryan of Big Clifty.
