She was a native of Hardin County and retired from Ft. Knox Civil Service. She was one of the founding board members of the Hardin County Farmers Market and continued to be a vender for several years.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Clarence W. Walters; her parents, Chester and Maymie Akers and three brothers, Bobby Akers, Billy Akers and James Akers.
Survivors include her son, Eric (Kristen) Walters and four grandchildren, Madelyn, Henry, Livi and Emma Kate Walters all of Simpsonville; two sisters, Frances Miller and Elsie Misiak and one brother, Kenny Akers.
The funeral will be Thursday, May 19th, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Kiger officiating.
Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 18th at the funeral home.
