He served in the military, in both the Army and the Army Reserves. He then began a career in civil service, and later opened his own business, running his own automotive repair shop.
An avid reader, he learned from everything he read. He read instruction manuals, twice, and may have known more about the product features than the people who made them. He possessed an innate awareness of how things worked, and tackled many home remodeling and repair projects himself, both small and large.
Although we wish we had more time with him, we are consoled by, and grateful for, the years we had together. We will miss him so very much.
Victor is survived by his wife Velia of 72 years, children Norma, David, and Gloria, eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, brother Frank Garcia, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra.
