I had the pleasure of working with Veronica for years.  We also spent time together socially as friends.  I had the pleasure of attending her wedding to Albert, and seeing her two boys as children.  I moved  out of state back in 2003.  

I was just notified of her passing in August.  I wish I had known sooner.

Thank you for the love and support you have extended to Albert, Bella, Jonah, and Adam.  I know Veronica would be so grateful.
So many of our friendships were forged through our church ministries and the ACTS community and that is how we met Veronica and Albert over 17 years ago.
I remember attending so many wonderful events together.  The pictures many of you have shared show us all in happier times.  We were reminiscing with Albert and the kids about how we used to visit the churches on Holy Thursday. We always looked forward to gathering at a restaurant at the end of the night…..laughing and sharing our lives together.
And so a lifetime of events with Veronica and her family followed.   Times of joy and happiness, times of sadness and sorrow, and the list goes on and on.
And through it all?  We each enjoyed having Veronica in our midst sharing her laughter and wicked wit.
I reviewed all of the voice mails I have saved from Veronica….calling to check on my recent treatment….calling to check on Jaime’s doctor appointment….calling to ask for Alora…..each message demonstrating the love and care she so freely gave to me and my family.  I am sure each of you received this same special messages of love and caring from Veronica.  Of this I am grateful….we always ended our phone conversations with “I love you”. 
During the pandemic a group of us would pray the rosary together every week through Zoom.  I remember we always closed our Zoom rosary meetings by sharing something we were grateful for…..so I know firsthand exactly what Veronica loved more than life itself….her beloved family.  
Albert, she was so excited you were living your passion by teaching students art. Bella, your Mom was so proud of your accomplishments, especially your college journey.  Adam, she used to say you took care of her and your Dad.  Jonah, she was so proud of your ambition in following your next job opportunity.  
We will miss you, our beloved Veronica!

-We met at a Search Retreat when we were both 16 years old  (“Veron” was her nickname between us).  Our families went to Santa Luisa church. We were both raised in strong Catholic homes.  We attended each other’s family events, and were involved in church activities. 
-We both enjoyed our young adult life by going out dancing (disco), we travelled to Mexico, camping, going to the Levi on holidays, cruising on Sunday’s, attended Holloween custome parties, and enjoyed all the adventures that we encountered with unstoppable laughter!
-Veron always put God and Family FIRST.  As time went on, we would talk on the phone on Saturday’s, and the last time we spoke she said, “I put everything in God’s Hands!”

-“ Veron, Yours was a life well spent!”

I remember clearly when I graduated from kindergarten at grace methodist preschool my aunt Ronnie and uncle Beto, gifted me a mini blue backpack that was hand painted with colorful puff paint, and it had designs, my name,  a rainbow (my favorite) and stars. I was over the moon and thought it was the most special gift ever.  She had a way of  always making those she loved feel special.  She was such an influence on my life, so lucky and blessed to have her as my Aunt.   

I remember pretending we were airplanes. With our arms out stretched sideways. We were at my uncle Henrys house. Me, her, my cousin Charley and another cousin Manny. We would make airplane sounds. I remember her crying when she broke a large chinaberry tree branch in our grandmother's house. She had tried to climb it. Me and Charley laughing. I went to her first holy communion at El Calvario church. Her and Charley made there holy communion together. She was funny
