Mr. Gandy was born, raised, and lived his entire life in Texas.
As the son of Lee and Mamie Gandy in West Texas, he dreamed of seeing the world. In 1945, with his mother's permission, he joined the Navy. In 1950, he joined the Air Force. His desire to become a pilot was not realized but he remained enamored with airplanes and flight.
While stationed at Biggs Airfield, he met a favorite dance partner, Susana, then married her sister, Alicia. They were married for sixty years.
Mr. Gandy was a social man. He enjoyed the company of family, friends, and strangers. His soft West Texas drawl was a treat to the ear of many people he met while traveling throughout the UK, Europe, Russia, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, China and the U.S.
Mr. Gandy was an electronics engineer with the El Paso Natural Gas Company until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by many loved ones including his wife, Alicia.
Mr. Gandy is survived by his son, Steve, daughter in law, Charlotte, his grandchildren, Ben and Missy, and great grandsons, Jude and Daniel; daughter Anita and son-in-law, Mark, sister-in-law, Susana; brothers-in-law Armando, Roberto, and Alfonso; many relatives from his Texas side of the family; a host of nieces and nephews; and dear friends Janet and Ed.
The Family wishes to thank Care Senior Services team Myrna, Amy, Jessica, and Heidi, all of whom took great care to keep Mr. Gandy happy in his home.
