Tom was born in Lafayette, Kentucky where he attended Christian County Schools. In 1953 he joined the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic. He was stationed in El Paso, Texas at Biggs Air Force Base. It was here in El Paso that he met and married the love of his life, Mary Helen Loera, where they spent the next 69 years together until his passing.
When Tom left the Air Force he joined the El Paso County Sheriffs Department where he worked from 1961 through 1966 and then went to work for AT&T where he retired after 37 years of service. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandson and riding his motorcycle.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Mary Helen, daughters Kim Magallanez, Jheri Walker Bustillos. He also leaves behind his beloved grandson, Ryan Bustillos.
