I had the pleasure of working with Tom for almost 20 years at CBP and when it was time for me move on to other opportunities at CBP I asked  Tom to manage the UH-60 program at the Tucson Air Branch. He did so and excelled at the position until he left for the UAS program in North Dakota.  Tom had an easy going demeanor and a mischievous sense of humor that I will miss.  

Tom,  Ron Harris and I made a cross country road trip from Grand Forks to Sierra Vista Az, taking three days relocating a 500 gallon fuel tank.  It was a memorable trip and we also got to watch his son play a basketball game while we in Grand Forks.  
Tom had a n acute sense for details and displayed it during a class we attended in Portland Oregon for the UAS program. We had walked down to a river that had some sand bars and while we there Tom found a small bottle with a message in it.  I don’t recall what the message said but just finding it was impressive.
