Silvia Yolanda Jaramillo

On the morning of March 3, 2015 Ms. Silvia Yolanda Jaramillo peacefully passed away at the age of 64. Silvia Y. Jaramillo was born November 20, 1950 in Mexico City to her loving parents Mr. Enrique and Mrs. Josefina Jaramillo. Silvia was a loving and devoted mother to her only son Jose F. Ramos and daughter-in-law, Sylvia Ramos. She was also an amazing grandmother to Joseph, Diego, Olivia, and Fernando Ramos whom she always said, “are my world.”

Silvia Yolanda Jaramillo received her Licensiatura en sociologia from U.N.A.M and later on, graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education from UTEP. While studying at UTEP she was president of BEEMS. Silvia’s passion was to educate and enrich the lives of her students. She taught kinder at Riverside Elementary in Sunland Park, NM for 17 years and was an ESL instructor at EPCC and at the Tecnologico de Monterrey in Juarez.

Silvia Jaramillo was preceded in death by her grandmother Julia Berbeyer, her brother Enrique Jaramillo, and her nephews Pierre Ives F. Ferry and Jaime E. Ceballos. She is survived by her parents, her brothers and sisters, her son, daughter-in-law, and her four grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday March 8, 2015 at Hillcrest Funeral home – Doniphan. Funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday March 9, 2015 interment will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Santa Teresa NM.
