I recently heard about the departure of Sergio Keko Posada. Attending Ross Jr. High and the mighty Burges High School, His departure reminds us of how short time really is and that we should all live the way Sergio lived, full of life and love to his family and friends. I met Keko when I got to Ross jr. High.  He was always smiling and friendly.  I had Mike and Joe in the same class.  But Keko was two years older than I was.  He always had a kind word and a smile on his face.  Years later, I moved back to El Paso.  I ran in to Keko and he was the same kind person.  He came to my house to watch a fight one evening and he spent most of the night chatting with my mother.  She had been his teacher at Burges.  Just the kind of person he was.  I will miss you carnal!  Until we meet again!

You and the Posada brothers Joe, Mike, and Eddie were part of my Ross Jr. High and Burges High School years. The Posada's.  You were popular, with those deep set eyes, fun loving, a popular guy in school with a big heart and friendly smile.

As a fellow female athlete, you were part of the cool jocks that roamed the halls of Ross and Burges,  with the other cool athletes. 

And as our lives moved forward, and years later, I was blessed to have your support in my first run for Texas State Representative.  Naive, new, not from the political cliques of the era, I was supported by our humble community. There you were my Ross Rebel/Burges Mustang friend standing by my side, supporting me through the ups and downs of politics.  

I always appreciated your personal friendship and support, and especially your warm embrace whenever we ran into each other.  I was so happy to get your political chequesitos in the mail with a personal note. Someone who knew me in the early years of my life.

I prayed fervently for your recovery and for your family.  Sadly, the Lord needed you more.  Thank you for your smile, for being genuine, fun loving, and human.

I met Sergio when we were in the third grade at Hawkins ! He was the coolest dude , was a great ball player dancer etc . My fondest memory of him was at Ross during the talent show he danced with  a few girls to Superstition by Stevie Wonder , brother was light on his feet and had great moves ! Ana , my condolences! I think I had you for class at Hawkins too . RIP my long time friend !

Keko was my poet hero.
He blessed me with so many wonderful heart warming  and incredibly happy memories as my beloved and loyal friend to last me several lifetimes.
From the time our hearts and souls bonded at Burges as athletes and writers, to the time I said goodbye to him on his last heart wrenching and tear filled day with us in his home surrounded by family, he was and and forever will be my great and eternal and beautiful friend.  

I remember Keko from both Ross Jr High and Burges High School. He always greeted everyone with an award winning smile. The last time I reconnected with him was at our 40th high school reunion. What a fun weekend that was. Still that same friendly guy with the award winning smile. Keko, you will be so missed. To the entire Posada family, may God hold you tightly in his arms and gives you all the strength during this most difficult time. Condolences and prayers to you all. 

I remember Sergio from high school. He was always walking around with a smile on his face. I was fortunate enough to reconnect with Sergio on Facebook years later. He was the kind of person who lifted your spirits, and always made you chuckle. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. He will always be loved and deeply missed.

Keko and I played football at Ross from the 7th to 9th grade. He would get along with everyone. Joking around and a smooth talker. Thanks for the good times and memories.  Rest In Peace my friend. And to his family my God give you strength to overcome  your pain.

So many great memories of Keko and Eddie when I lived in Las Cruces. Keko, I will never forget you!

I met him when I was 17. I just found out today.  He was my first love and a good friend.  My sister and I had some hilarious memories with Eddie.  My sincerest condolences to the family,  I hope and pray you find peace.

Mi buen amigo Sergio , te recordarè felíz , siempre con tu sonrisa , orgulloso de tu hijo , de tu esposa y de toda tu familia,. Fuiste un hombre con un gran corazón y sobre todo un gran amigo . Dios te bendice  siempre “ compadre “ , a tí y toda tu familia . 

I remember Keko as an athlete at Ross Jr. High in the early to mid 70's.  His brother Eddie was a year or two behind me and we all played for Coach Wally Hartley.   My sincere condolences to all his family and friends. May our Good Lord hold Keko in his hands for enternity, may he rest in peace and may the perpetual light shine upon him.  Vaya con Dios old friend. 

Keko was a kind and  wonderful  to my abuelita. I will never forget how he shined her shoes. My abuelita had a big smile when he took the time for her.
