“Sara Mercy Fox was called home by our Lord on Friday, May 6, 2022, with her loving family by her side. Sara was born on August 2, 1980, in El Paso, Texas. Growing up in El Paso, Sara graduated from Loretto Academy and The University of Texas El Paso. During her college tenure she was an active member of the theatre department and worked on a number of productions. After college Sara moved to Austin, Texas where she worked in the hospitality industry before returning to El Paso to assist in the family business.
Sara was a Christian and loved dancing in her room, reciting rap songs, traveling, and making memories with those she loved. Sara was a best friend to many people. She was quick-witted, funny, and could find humor and positivity in any situation. Not only could Sara light up a room, she lit up the lives of all of those with whom she interacted. Her courage and strength in the face of negativity were inspirational to all who knew her.
Sara is preceded in death by her father, Don Fox, grandparents Lorenzo Mesta, Raymond Fox, and Minnie Fox and cousin Erin Mesta. She is survived by her loving husband Phil Harmon, her mother Eva Fox, brother Daniel Fox, and grandmother Mercedes Mesta. She leaves behind aunts Elizabeth Garcia, Mary Mayo, and Connie Fox; uncles Eddie Fox and Jim Mesta, and cousins Jason Mesta, Loren Mesta, Joel and Marie Garcia, and Luke and Jobana Garcia. Her loving family and host of friends will always remember Sara for her generous spirit, beautiful green eyes, and glowing smile.
We are extremely grateful to the medical staff at Hospice of El Paso and Center of Compassionate Care West for their loving care of Sara during her final weeks. We are endlessly thankful to TheBallardHouse.org in Katy, TX and the doctors and nurses of MD Anderson Cancer Center and Dr. Aloba at Texas Oncology, El Paso, TX.
