Samuel Lawrence Henry

Samuel Lawrence Henry passed away on August 11, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Sam was born and raised in the Fort Worth area and graduated from L. D. Bell High School and Magna Cum Laude from University of Texas at Arlington. He is survived by his wife, Cyndi and sons Brian (Amber), David (Yuliya), daughter Sara and grandson Wesley. Sam is also survived by his three sisters, Muriel, Kathie, Sylvia and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Sam and mother Bernice and brother David. Family and aviation were Sam’s passions. He was an accomplished pilot and flight instructor taking every opportunity to fly. His love of aviation later took the back seat to his family. He also loved skiing, bird hunting with his dog Roxy and music.

As a Certified Public Accountant, he had a long and illustrious career in both the private and public sectors. Sam was a devoted family man and his most cherished moments were times spent with his loved ones.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the following charities in Sam’s memory: Junior League of El Paso Endowment Fund, Candlelighters of El Paso, or El Pasoans Fighting Hunger.

The family has held a private celebration of Sam’s life and expresses their gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support.
