Samuel H. Cruz

On Monday, September 28, 2015 our beloved husband, father, grandfather Samuel H. Cruz (Chupa Chupa) was called up to heaven. He is preceded in death by grandson Samuel G. Salazar, granddaughter Petrita Cruz-Melendez; siblings Ernesto and Ruben Cruz, Maria de Jesus Macias and Juanita De Leon. Samuel retired from Rainbo Baking Company after 36 years. His favorite past time was watching a good game of baseball and playing for the “JPC” and in his later years playing for the “Old Timers”. Survived by his wife of 63 years, Manuela (Maria) Cruz, son, BillPaul Cruz, daughters Maria Ofelia Salazar (Edward), Eileen Escamilla (Robert), and Gabriela Cruz. Samuel is also survived by his grandchildren Robert Escamilla Jr. and Melodie Escamilla, sisters Alicia De La Cruz, Martha Antunez and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 1st from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina with Vigil beginning at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 2nd at 9:30 AM at San Jose Catholic Church, 8100 San Jose Road. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
