Salvador G. Contreras, El Paso businessman and dedicated family man passed away peacefully on October 19th, 2018 at the age of 83. He was the epitome of a true family man, his life and legacy will continue to be celebrated by those who love him. Salvador, who founded Southwest Paving in 1980, lived a very proud life with numerous accomplishments in the local business community. His Journey from laboring on the farms in Fabens TX as a child, to a successful businessman for nearly four decades was not an easy one by any means. He was particularly proud of a few of his accomplishments throughout his life, such as being named El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce “up-and-coming” honoree in 1996 and being elected President of the Lions Club, but none greater than the family he cherished and supported with his wife. Salvador is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margarita (Maggie), his daughter Irma Lara with her husband Ruben, and their children Tyler and Casey and great grand-daughter Mckenlie; his son Albert with his wife Suzan, and their son Jon. The family would like to thank Cima Hospice and Indian Ridge Adult Foster Home for their care, love and support.
