Ruth Saenz, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on February 6, 2018, at the age of 64, but her generosity of spirit will not be forgotten. She was born on April 2, 1953, as the third child of the late Blas E. Gonzalez and Carlota (Caly) Gonzalez. She is survived by her daughter Alyssa Duran-Pollard and son-in-law, Steve Pollard, of Beaverton, Oregon. She is also survived by her sisters Irma Olivarez (Hector) and Nancy Lopez (Richard). Affectionately known as Ruthie by her family and many friends, she enjoyed all manner of outdoor activities: running, swimming, hiking and biking. She also enjoyed traveling with friends and visiting with family. She had her “gals” that were her travel and muddy buddies. Ruthie also had a wonderful network of longtime friends from the telephone company. Ruthie was always finding ways to insert fun in whatever holiday was being celebrated, whether it was having everyone wear star tattoos for 4th of July, or reindeer ears and red noses for Christmas. And don’t worry, there are plenty of pictures for future humiliation, because she was always taking pictures. Her many friends and family can attest to this.
Come celebrate her life at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 N. Zaragoza, El Paso, TX, 79936 on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Visitation will be from 12-4 p.m. with Chapel Service to begin at 12:30p.m. Funeral Services entrusted to Crestview Funeral Home, (915) 856-1400, www.crestviewfuneralhome.com
