Rosario "Rose" Richardson, a beacon of love, strength, and unwavering support, peacefully transitioned from this world on Sunday, October 13, 2024, surrounded by family and friends on the ranch she loved so much in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Born on September 1, 1940, in El Paso, Texas, to Manuel and Carolina (Solis) Davila, Rose's 84 years were marked by an extraordinary capacity for love and resilience.
Rose's life was a testament to the power of family and unconditional love. She was Rosario to some, Rose to many, and Chayo to everyone else. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she touched countless lives with her warmth and compassion. Her husband, Nolan Richardson, fondly remembers her as the ultimate team player and finisher, a woman whose support knew no bounds. Rose's strength was perhaps most evident in how she faced life's greatest challenges, finding solace and healing in her love for animals after the heartbreaking loss of her daughter Yvonne to leukemia.
Throughout her journey, Rose faced profound losses. Transitioned before Rose were her loving parents Manuel and Carolina Davila, daughters Yvonne Richardson and Sylvia Sanchez, her bonus son Nolan Richardson III, and her sister Maria Elena Hernandez. Yet, her spirit remained unbroken, and a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
Rose's legacy of love lives on through her surviving family: her husband Nolan Richardson, Jr.,
Grandson, Daniel Sanchez; bonus daughter Madalyn Richardson of El Paso, TX; bonus son Bradley Richardson of Tulsa, OK. Siblings are Consuelo Piña, Manuel Davila, Irene Davila, Armando Davila, Mario Davila, Ramon Torres, and Hilda Davila, all of El Paso, TX. Her memory will be cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each a great testament to the enduring power of her love.
As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we celebrate a life lived with grace, courage, and an abundance of love. Rosario “Rose” Richardson's memory will forever be a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her and tasting her famous delicious strawberry cake. Please let memories of Rose be a comfort to you.
We are forever beholding for the excellent loving care Rose received from Allison Johnson, MD, FACP and to devoted care provider and friend, Maria Vasquez.
