Rosa Maria (Zubiate) Nevarez, known as "Wita" to her family, was called to Heaven on July 28, 2024. Rosa was the fourth of seven children born to Francisco and Viviana Zubiate on September 12, 1955 in Villa Ahumada, Chihuahua, Mexico. She had a love for life and brought joy and laughter to all of her family & friends.
Rosa was a devoted follower of Christ. She was a woman of many passions and talents like sewing, cooking, water aerobics and gardening. She loved singing her heart out to music from Vicente Fernández and Rocío Dúrcal. She had a collection of the most beautiful dresses, musical instruments, silver jewelry, and angel figurines that showcased her variety of interests.
Rosa was a true Chingona, always finding a way to make things happen for herself and her girls. Her trusty Ford F-150 often carried new trees to plant or materials for her next house project. An accomplished hairdresser, Rosa cut the hair of everyone in her family and loved coloring her own hair her signature auburn.
Rosa cherished spending time with her family, especially over foreign films, prayer sessions, holidays, and travel. She loved red roses, pastries, and being serenaded with Las Mañanitas on special occasions.
Rosa is reunited in paradise with her parents, Francisco and Viviana Zubiate; her beloved daughter, Miriam Nevarez; and her dear brother, Ignacio "Nacho" Zubiate.
Left to hold close her memory are children Brenda, Sandra (Jon), and Evelyn; grandchildren Liana, Larissa, Loretta, Brent, Miliani, and Jett. She will be missed dearly by her family & friends.
In remembrance of Rosa's giving nature, the family encourages donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Defeat MSA Alliance. Rosa's legacy of love, resilience, and service will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
