Ron Dawson

Born and raised in Las Cruces, NM, went to high school at Las Cruces High then joined the Air Force. He served as a Senior Airman at the time of his honorable discharge from November 1961 to December 1965. Following his military service, he earned his Master's Degree in Speech Pathology at New Mexico State University. He then worked in the schools as an educator and speech pathologist for Anthony ISD in New Mexico for over 20 years then moved to on to Clint ISD in Texas for more then 5 years. He has influenced many in his profession and helped countless number of children and adults achieve their speech therapy goals. He was truly a master in his profession. He married his high school sweetheart, Rosetta Cowger on July 4, 1961 who he will reunite with in heaven. He is survived by two daughters, Carrie Bess and Jenny Marie. He has 5 grandchildren, Joshua Shane, Daniella Cheyenne, Jamie Lynn, Michael Eaton and Joshua Brayden, two great grandchildren, Adrian Luther Johnson and Lila Naomi Dawson. Also his brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Sue Dawson and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends. Funeral Service will be from 7:00pm to 9:00pm Sunday, December 11, 2016. Inurnment at 10:00am Monday, December 12, 2016 at Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress Road, Las Cruces, NM 88005.
