Our dear mother Romelia Hernandez passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the age of 68. She was born in Caseta, Mexico and grew up in Tornillo, Texas. When she was 19 years old, she moved to Oklahoma City where she found the love of her life, Fernando Hernandez. They got married three months after their first date at the local Coney Island hotdog stand. Shortly after they moved to Clint, Texas where they built a happy and loving home. There they raised and loved their children Fernando Jr. and Neidine. With the example set by their parents, Fernie married Betty and Neidine married David, which later gave our mother her beloved granddaughters; Celeste, Davi and Vashti. Their loving home was blessed for 48 years before the Lord called upon Fernando this past April. Nevertheless she was resilient and continued to pour her love on her family. She was a great example of a loving, caring and wonderful role model in life and her devotion to God. Her faith and love guided and protected her family throughout her life. She instilled her hard-working values and principles to include loyalty, honesty, nurturing, selflessness, dignity and above all faith in God. Even in the final days, she fought a brave and courageous battle against cancer. Seven short months after the passing of Fernando, the Lord called Romelia into His arms. She was a loving daughter, a caring sister, a beautiful mother, a generous grandmother, a good hearted and compassionate voice to all.
