On June 24, 2015 Rogelio Rodolfo Rios, 95, was called to be in Heaven with Emma, his wife of 60 years. Born in Fabens, Texas, he was a proud Bowie Bear football player, attended the Boeing School of Aeronautics and was a World War II hero, earning numerous awards, including the Distinguished Flying Cross. Rogelio was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Filiberta Rios; spouse Emma; brothers Raul, Ricardo, Roberto; sisters Trini, Maria Luisa, Berta. He is survived by his son Roger; daughter Veronica; brother Raimundo; sister Concha; grandchildren Andrea and Brianna Rios. Rogelio retired from Guynes Printing Company in 1985 and was a proud lifelong resident of El Paso. In the early years he was known to have the best looking lawn on the block and has been a fixture at Guadalupe Church on Sunday morning ever since. The waiting is over, Dad, you can now enjoy Mom with your family for eternity.
Visitation will be held at on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 5 - 9 PM with the rosary service at 7PM at Funeraria del Angel Martin Central. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, July 2, at 9:00 AM at Guadalupe Church followed by interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alvarado Foster Homes or the Alzheimer's Association.
