Robert Norman Taylor was born in El Paso, Texas, August 5, 1946. He graduated from Austin High School and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, at the University of Texas at El Paso. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after working as a locomotive engineer for over 30 years. He recently was employed by the Gadsden Independent School District as an instructional assistant. Mr. Taylor was assigned to work as a mentor, scribe and instructional assistant to a young man, for whom he cared dearly. The young man's name is Ruben. In addition, while working for Southern Pacific and Union Pacific, he was a foster parent to 13 children.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife Olga Estrada. Three children; Keith, Kennon and Kimberly Taylor. Six step-children; La Donna, Lance, Lisa, Monique, Rochelle and Eric and 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brother's Thermon and James Taylor and one sister Sandra Price.
