He fought hard for his family, but lost his battle with brain cancer after nine months of treatment at MD Anderson in Houston.
Robert is remembered for his tender and loving heart that he displayed to anyone he crossed paths with during his life.
Robert grew up on the Westside where he made his friends, met his wife, Resa and ultimately made El Paso his home.
Following the steps of his father through the plumbing industry, he purchased Massey Johnson Associates from Herlin Equipment in 1989, a company whose presence in El Paso dates back to the 1920’s. Robert began to build a legacy as he expanded Massey Johnson Associates adding offices in Albuquerque and Denver. We are the proud tradition of Massey Johnson will continue through the direction of Roberts brother-in-law, Doug DeVore.
Robert had many passions throughout his life including hunting, golfing, travels in his jeep and his favorite, his family.
Although his life was cut short, it was full of adventure. Robert traveled to Africa, Alaska, Canada and many other destinations for hunting trips that he treasured.
He was very involved in all that his girls participated in growing up. From coaching the Westside Wildcats softball team for six years to becoming the ultimate cheer dad for eight years, he loved spending time with his family.
Robert and his wife, Resa, just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary, reflecting on three decades of love May 5th.
He is survived by his wife Resa Johnson, his daughters Cassie and Lexi Johnson and his parents Winston and Mary Johnson.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 5005 Love Rd., El Paso, Texas.
