Robert "Bob" William Hill Sr., 83, of El Paso, Texas, entered eternal rest on January 24, 2025. Born on August 21, 1941, in El Paso, Texas, to Benjamin B. and Aurora (Armijo) Hill, Bob was proud to call El Paso his home.
Bob was an alumnus of Stephen F. Austin High School and the University of Texas at El Paso. A devout Catholic, his faith and unwavering devotion to the Holy Trinity were central to his life.
In 1971, Bob married Cleotilde "Coty" Rocha, and together they had two sons. Bob was a devoted husband, father, and cherished grandfather. He spent 28 honorable years with the Sheriff's Department, having first dedicated nearly a decade to educating young minds in the El Paso Independent School District. He completed his final duty as an officer at the El Paso County Sheriff's Detention Center in the summer of 2012, a career he held with immense pride.
Affectionately known as "Bob," he was renowned for his immense heart, kindness, and genuine nature. He greeted everyone with a smile and a warm embrace, making everyone feel like a close friend. His sense of humor and stories from his boyhood, musical tours, and family legacy were unforgettable. With a song and guitar in hand, Bob always ensured everyone left with a positive outlook on life and a reminder to count their blessings.
Bob found renewed vitality and joy upon becoming a grandfather, a role he and Coty cherished. His calming words and embrace could ease any storm, filling hearts with peace, faith, and love. Life without him will never be the same, but he left a legacy of living fully and appreciating the world's magnificence. Bob was love; he was wonderful. Like Coty, he was everything. He will be profoundly missed.
Bob is survived by his sons, Robert W. Hill Jr. (Ana) and Jude G. Hill (Denise); his grandchildren, Pamela (Mark), Liam, Luke, and Penelope; numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
