Robert Gallardo, Jr., 54, born May 13, 1960 was called home by his Savior on April 7, 2015. He was preceded in death by his mother, Guadalupe Lazarin Gallardo. He is survived by his father, Roberto Gallardo, Sr.; sisters, Patricia Gallardo and Cynthia Porter (Victor Figueroa); brothers, Joseph Gallardo and Richard Gallardo (Raquel); nieces, Christina Guerra Schmitt (Nathan) and Katherine Gallardo; nephews, Peter Porter and Matthew Gallardo; and close family friend, Judy Alvarado. Rob graduated from Austin High School in 1978 and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Stanford University in 1982 Founder and Director of Operation No Gangs, a non-profit, Christian based youth intervention program, Rob was a prominent and sought out motivational speaker across Texas and in Anthony and Las Cruces. He worked closely with The Girls and Boys Club, the Red Ribbon Anti-Drug program, and with various anti-bullying campaigns. Rob was dedicated to God, his family and his work. He was always the first to lend a hand to anyone in need, and he will always be in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched. Visitation from 5-9 PM, Sunday, April 12, 2015 with a Celebration of Life at 7 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 Carolina. Funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Monday, April 13, 2015 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1050 N. Clark Drive. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
