Richard is survived by his wife, Virginia Smith; his children Charles W Smith, Rick Smith, Gina M Smith; sisters Sandra Mackey and Diane Goodnight; his grandchildren Zack Smith, Zoe Smith, Zander Smith, Breanna Smith and Olivia Smith.

A visitation for Richard will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79936. Following the visitation will be a graveside services at 2:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, Texas 79906.
