It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Abram Román, 61, on January 10, 2025 in El Paso, TX. Richard was born on July 18, 1963, and was raised in El Paso, TX, by Dr. Jose Román Jr and Olivia Román. He was a beloved father, son, brother, friend, and colleague.
Richard attended El Paso High School and graduated in 1981. He went on to obtain a Bachelors of Anthropology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and later a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Southern University School of Law. He went on to marry Angelique Adauto Román in November 1999, and together they had their daughter Gabriella and son Matthew. Richard enjoyed cooking for his family, traveling, working in his backyard, and listening to The Eagles and classical music. He always had a hunger to continue learning as much as he could. He was an avid reader, and often the most intelligent person in the room.
Richard served his city as a judge of the 346th District Court and was a prominent attorney in the city of El Paso following his judicial term. Richard valued justice and community, and is beloved by the many people he touched with his service. He was known for his charisma, intelligence, and strong will to reach his goals.
Richard will be dearly missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all those who were fortunate to know him during his life.

Survived by: His daughter Gabriella Román and son Matthew Román; Mother, Olivia Román; Sisters, Dr. Belinda Román and Yolanda Milliorn (Rick); Brothers, Dr. José Román III (Sabrina), David Román (Lisa) and Michael Román (Rosie); Mother to his children, Angelique Adauto Román; Son in law, Hugo Chacon and other loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
