Refugio "Cuca" A. Garcia

Refugio “Cuca” A. Garcia, 99, a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018. She was a longtime resident of El Paso and a member of the catholic church. Cuca is preceded in death by her husband; Manuel A. Garcia and son-in-law; Christoval Lopez. She is survived by her loving children; Gloria Lopez, Victor (Polly) Garcia, Ceci (Miguel) Ortiz, Cristina (Al) Acevedo, Martha (Patrick) Romero and Carlos (Jacalyn) Garcia, 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members along with many loving friends. Visitation for Cuca will be Thursday, January 25th from 5:00pm-9:00pm with a vigil at 7:00pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina. Funeral mass will be held Friday, January 26th at 9:30am at Cristo Rey Catholic Church with interment to follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and granddaughters as honorary pallbearers. Cuca will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her zest for life. She enjoyed music, and songs like “My Way, Unchained Melody, Only You, and Crazy” were just a few of many songs that made her smile and brought joy to Cuca. Grandma Garcia as she was lovingly known to everyone will be greatly missed. Services entrusted to Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina (915)598-3332.
