Mona was born on August 31, 1933 to Margarita Lozano and Jose Montelongo, in El Paso, Texas.
She graduated from Jefferson High School in May 1951 and attended Texas Western College.
She married Manuel Xavier Aguilar (Aggie) on 25 August 1957 and they had three children; Rene Xavier, Ramon Victor and Richard Patrick. They celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2017 before Manny passed away in January of 2018.
Mona is survived by her sons, Rene (Yolanda), Ramon (Lucina+) and Richard; grandchildren, Nickole (Juan), Marisa (Andrew), Ray (Daryl) and Aliana; Great Grandchildren, Austin, Jayden, Peyton, and Sister-In-Law, Cecilia Aguilar-Spade. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margarita; father, Jose; brother, Jose Luis; grandson, Rene and her daughter-in-law, Lucina.
Visitation for Ramona will be held on Monday April 29, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm with a rosary at 6pm at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. 79903. Funeral mass will be be Tuesday April 30, 2024, at 9:15am at St. Luke Catholic Church, 930 E. Redd Road, 79912 with interment to follow in Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ramon Aguilar, Richard Aguilar, Ray Aguilar Jr., Juan Renteria, Andrew Tellez, Leo Artalejo and Rene Aguilar.
She was blessed to have had so many people that cared for her. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Nahid Vandshekari, nurse Liza, nurse Shirin, CNA Mary Lou and Green Mountain Healthcare Services.
A very special thank you to Kamar Foster Care, especially Diana, Olivia, Ellie, Imelda and Jaime, for their tender loving care of our mother, Mona. Todas nunca seran olvidadas…gracias.
