Ramon R. Salcido, 91 Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend has gone home to be with our Lord. He passed away July 31, 2014. Ramon was a Korean War Veteran. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lupe Salcido, daughter, Isabel DeLaRosa (Manuel), grandchildren, Jennifer Salcido and Michael Ryan Foix; survived by his children, Emma Valtier, Norma Huerta (Francisco), Hazel Gomez (Frank), Irma Valles (Sergio), Ramon Salcido Jr. (Rosemarie), David Salcido, Delia Salcido, Sylvia Rasey (Jim), Esther Ross (Thierry), Ida Salcido, Ricardo Salcido (Fabiola), Micaela Smith, Betty Luna : 28 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Ramon encompassed honor, integrity, fortitude, duty, wisdom, respect, courage, commitment, determination, perseverance, inspiration, and truth; characteristics he instilled in all of his children. His favorite past times included swimming, football, baseball, singing, dancing, and watching war movies. He was a crossword puzzle/word search king, jeopardy intellect, our “cookie monster”, Klondike, fudgsicle, triple chocolate lover. He enjoyed joking with fun loving humor. Our handsome hero was a man of few words, solid action and wore many hats (literally). A wire line operator in the U.S. Army, Teamsters truck driver and Union Officer, VFW Post 8782 Officer, various charities Volunteer, supportive friend and an overall humanitarian. Dad’s innate goodness and selfless loving spirit will live forever in the hearts and precious memories of family and countless friends. Ramon lived a beautiful, full, honorable life. He will never be forgotten. Thank you for teaching your children well Dad. We love you.
