El Paso, Tx. / Cd. Juarez, Chih. - Ramon Rodriguez Salazar, aged 72, earned his wings on Friday, August
9, 2019. He was born on December 13, 1946 in Cd. Juarez, Chih., Mexico to his Spanish father, Ramon
Rodriguez and Mexican mother, Concepcion Salazar Alvarez. He is survived by the love of his life and
wife of 45 years, Maria de Jesus Rodriguez, his three children, Jose Ruy Rodriguez, Luis Carlos
Rodriguez and Joanne Rodriguez; four granddaughters, Zoey Rodriguez, Sophia Rodriguez, Minna
Betancourt and Mikayla Marie Madrigal. Also his brother, Manuel Rodriguez and sister, Gloria
Rodriguez. Ramon was a hard worker who traveled throughout Mexico as a sales person for companies
like Gamesa and Viejo Vergel. He eventually decided to take on entrepreneurship, as he always strived
for better in his life, and that of his family. He embraced a bi-national lifestyle as the owner of a
wholesale goods business called Central de Abarrotes de Juarez and party and candy supplies stores
called Super Dulcerias Calesa #1, #2, & #3. He traveled every day for over 20 years from his home in El
Paso, TX. into Mexico to be hands on and always present at his businesses, ensuring that his many
employees and himself could provide for their families. When his beloved Cd. Juarez was in turmoil, he
had to make the difficult choice of closing his businesses. He didn’t retire but instead continued to work.
He came to work closer to home at Wal-Mart where he made many new friends. Ramon was not only a
hard worker but also a humble man. He was kind hearted, with a strong moral compass and was always
generous with those that he cared about. He enjoyed reading, cooking and tending to his garden with his
wife. He will be remembered for making the most authentic and delicious paella for his loved ones every
Christmas Eve. He will also lovingly be remembered for being a simple and loving man, staying true to
his word, and inspiring those around him to work hard at their dreams. The Rodriguez family wishes to
thank all of those who helped care for him over the last few years and especially to those that were a part
of his life. Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 10:30am Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Funeraria Del Angel Evergreen East with a Vigil Service to begin at 10:30am.
