Petra Lopez (90) was called to heaven on March 12, 2022. Born in La Punta, JA, México on June 29, 1931, she immigrated to El Paso with her husband as part of the Bracero Program to give their growing family a better life.
Preceded in death by her husband (Rosendo) and son (Antonio), her living legacy is her 10 children, Rosa (Daniel), Hector (Mireya), Jose (Graciela), Martha (Lorenzo), Mario (Eva), Rita (Frank), Raul (Sara), Oscar (Grace), Roberto (Marisol), and Eduardo (Margarita), 31 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.
Petra was a strong woman who served God her entire life as a wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor, and congregant at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Petra’s steadfast love will endure through her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on March 24th at 5pm with the Holy Rosary at 7pm at Mt. Carmel Church. The Funeral Mass will take place on March 25th at 12pm at Mt. Carmel Church with burial to follow at Mt.
