Pedro (Pete) Araujo, 94, passed away peacefully at home in El Paso, Texas, on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. As an orphan, Pete immigrated to the United States from Belize with little more than a determined grit and hope for a better life. In short time, Pete became an accomplished businessman who never let a day pass him by. Always grateful for each client and friend, Pete's success in business can be attributed to his unshakeable honesty and loyalty. His unmatched character had a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Above all, Pete was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Anyone privileged enough to know him will forever cherish his smile, friendly handshakes, warm hugs, and selfless generosity. A true gentleman, Pete's legacy demonstrates the ability for anyone to achieve the American Dream. Pete is survived by his wife of 61 years Elizabeth Mendoza Araujo, their children, Pedro Araujo, Vicky Araujo, Alice Araujo; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Gracie Araujo.
