Born in Morrill Nebraska to Jesus and Petra Martinez, he was the youngest boy of nine children. Raised and educated in Juarez, Mexico he was drafted in 1950 to serve in the US Army during the Korean War. Patricio rose to the rank of corporal and after his discharge he began his career with the El Paso Electric Company retiring as a supervisor overseeing construction and maintenance of substations.
Upon retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively visiting their children and family throughout the US and Mexico leading to a search for the best chicken fried steak and eggs. An avid fan of baseball and boxing, Friday nights were special evenings in the Martinez home.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years Maria Del Carmen Enriquez Martinez and son Jesus Roberto Martinez. Survived by daughters Maria Del Carmen Ray, Patricia Martinez-Molinar and sons Raymundo and Julian Martinez; grandsons Xavier, Patrick and Elijah; granddaughters Molly and Petra; sisters Bacilia Flores, Ana Gandara, Dorotea Arzaga and Paula Borrego.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Martin Funeral Home Central from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm (rosary at 7:00 pm). Funeral mass will be held at 12:15 pm, Monday, April 23, 2012 at Our Lady of the Light Church with interment to follow at Fort Bliss Cemetery.
