It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Rose Morales (aka, Patty), a woman whose kindness, love, and generosity touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Patty departed this world on February 1, 2024 leaving behind a legacy of compassion and warmth that will be cherished by those who were blessed to have shared in her presence. Patty was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by her unwavering commitment to animals, her boundless love, and her artistic spirit.
Patty was born on November 3, 1958, in El Paso Texas to Edward Sr. and Lupe Morales; she was the 3rd child among four siblings. Patty grew up surrounded by love, and she carried that love with her throughout her entire life. Following her graduation from Irvin High School in 1977, she attended UTEP, studying Art with a specialization in ceramics. Subsequently, she ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing her own small business named Pats Pots. Through this small business, she exhibited and sold her exquisite ceramic creations at various festivals in Las Cruces, NM, and El Paso, including Art in the Park. Her journey continued with a transition to the Asa P. Gray Recreation Center at McGregor Range, where she served as a dedicated Recreation Aide for four years. Later, she relocated to lower Beaumont, assuming the role of Kennel Master for 12 years at the Ft. Bliss Veterinary Clinic and subsequently transitioning to the position of Receptionist for another 18 years. Her tireless dedication and passion for her work manifested in her retirement in May 2018, concluding an impressive 33-year career of unwavering service to the Government of the United States of America.
Patty's renowned qualities included her giant kind heart, affection for animals, delicious cooking, and artistic talents. She had an extraordinary ability to make others feel seen and valued, and her genuine interest in the well-being of those around her created an atmosphere of love and acceptance.
Patty is survived by her mother, Lupe Morales, loving siblings, Dolores Viger, Star Marvel and Scott Marvel, nieces and nephews; Robert (Nicole) Gutierrez, Theresa (Paul) Gahl, Amber (Travis) Parker, Megan Morales, and great nieces and nephews, Tyler and Bradley Gutierrez, Matthew Gahl, Keyana Gutierrez-Gurule, Makenzie, Cassidy and Brody Parker, Neelah and Mykai Morales. Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers Olga, Lorena, and Hospice El Paso for their compassionate care, support and kindness provided to our beautiful Patty.
Patty had a special request for her service – she wished for everyone to "wear bright colors" in celebration of her life. Feel free to choose any colors you prefer; even tie-dye was a favorite and appealed to the artist in her.
